Come and explore it on our 18-day Textile Tour August 1st-18th 2019.

DAY 1: Arrive to Lima - Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.  

DAY 2: Lima city tour - Explore the city of Lima with a tour of the main square and the San Francisco church and catacombs. Visit the Larco Museum and Amano Textile Museum in the Miraflores District.

DAY3-5: Weaving workshop - Tapestry weaving workshop with Maximo Laura and his team. Over the three day workshop you will create your own textile masterpiece to take home with you. 

DAY 6: Lima to Arequipa - Today you will fly from Lima to beautiful Arequipa with a free afternoon to explore the city. 

DAY 7: Arequipa city tour - Explore the charming ‘white city’ of Arequipa on a walking tour with visits to the Monastery of Santa Catalina, the Juanita Mummy Museum and the Cathedral of Arequipa. 

DAY 8: Arequipa textile tour - Arequipa is the modern commercial textile hub of Peru and today we will explore some of its workshops.

DAY 9: Arequipa to Colca Canyon - Travel by road to the scenic Colca Canyon, passing over our highest point of 4900mtrs. Descend to the village of Chivay and relax with a free afternoon.

DAY 10: Colca to Puno - Drive early to the Cruz del Condor to see the condors flying in the morning thermal air currents. Travel by road through alpaca and llama farms and see the amazing vicunas before arriving in Puno.

DAY 11: Lake Titcaca tour - Board the boat early at the port of Lake Titicaca to visit the floating reed islands of Uros and the famous knitters of Taquile Island. 

DAY 12: Puno to Cusco - Today we journey from Puno to Cusco by bus over the Altiplano. Making stops at the Inca temples of Raqchi and Andahuaylillas, a colonial town home to one of the finest churches in the region.

DAY 13: Cusco - Explore the charming city of Cusco on a walking tour visitng the artisan neighborhood of San Blas, the Cusco Cathedral and the Sun Temple finishing at the local San Pedro market.

DAY 14: Textile workshop - Choose a one day weaving, spinning or braiding workshop with The Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco to learn traditional Andean techniques. 

DAY 15: Textile workshop - Travel to the village of Chinchero for a workshop exploring traditional natural dyes with The Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco. You will dye your own yarn to take home. 

DAY 16: Cusco to Aguas Calientes - Today visit the town of Pisaq in the Sacred Valley of the Incas including the artisan markets and the Pisaq ruins. Travel to Ollantaytambo and board the train to Aguas Calientes.  

DAY 17: Machu Picchu to Cusco - Wake up early to take the bus to the world famous Machu Picchu and explore the site on a guided tour. Return by train and bus to Cusco. 

DAY 18: Cusco to Lima - Today transfer from the hotel to the airport of Cusco for your flight to Lima. Tour concludes.
